Job description

Analytical Services

We offer commercial analytical lab chemistry testing for food and drink, including: nutritional and health, microscopy, biochemistry, allergens, chromatography, packaging, cereals and ingredients, and wines and spirits.

Packaging Team

Campden BRI supports food & drink manufacturers by rigorously testing their packaging to ensure product quality, safety, and maintenance. Packaging must retain its strength and integrity, have the correct physicochemical characteristics to protect and preserve products during the supply chain, and must not adversely affect the product through interaction, causing taints or loss of quality.

Campden BRI has a range of packaging analysis and testing facilities and can conduct a broad range of investigations, including microscopic and chemical testing. The key question is: is the packaging fit for purpose? Different types of packaging are used for different reasons.

Position

• Preparation of samples and testing of materials as guided by your line manager or others within the team. This will primarily be on contract projects but also on research projects.
• Maintenance of packaging analytical equipment, care of packaging pilot plant, and maintenance of records for business management system purposes.
• Assist with hygiene and good housekeeping activities.

Requirements

• A-levels in Science, Food Technology related subjects, and/or relevant laboratory experience.
• Experience using Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to work in a small team with minimal supervision.
• Good verbal and communication skills, as there will be some client interaction.
• Effective time management skills relating to effective delivery and business practices.
