Join Our Team as a Catering Assistant in St Andrews

If you are interested in providing school meals for children of all ages, this could be the perfect career opportunity for you. Join one of our many Catering Assistant teams in schools and nurseries within St Andrews.

We currently have two permanent vacancies in St Andrews, both working Monday to Friday, 18.5 hours per week during term time, with a 38-week contract.

Madras College:

• Catering Assistant - 2 vacancies: 18.5 hours per week, 38-week contract. Hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:30am to 2:30pm, and Friday from 10:30am to 1:00pm.

You will earn a competitive pro-rata salary of £23,783.40 and benefit from a range of perks, including:

• £12.67 per hour to start, with additional payments for shift work, including weekends.
• Payment every 4 weeks, annualized for the 38-week contract.
• Support and opportunities for training and qualifications, including a Food Hygiene Certificate.

This role involves providing excellent customer service by ensuring pupils and staff receive hot or cold meals daily. You'll leave each day knowing you've made a difference, whether serving at Breakfast Club, morning break, or lunch.

No previous experience is required as on-the-job training is provided. You will work towards obtaining a Food Hygiene Certificate.

You must be able to provide a reliable and effective service as part of a team and attend a full-day induction training before starting.

Before confirmation of your appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant PVG scheme.
