Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, employing over 2,000 people in the UK. BDUK delivers various contracts to UK Defense customers, including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Through Life Support for Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services, and Training Services.

The Role:

This position is for a Production Engineering Manager reporting to the BDUK Design, Maintenance, Modifications, and Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The role serves as the First Line Leader for a team of Production Engineers supporting the E7 Build Program.

The manager will oversee the Material Review Board (MRB), Manufacturing Planning (MP), Manufacturing Engineering (ME), and Industrial Engineering (IE) teams, interfacing with on-site leadership to ensure operational efficiency and program support.

In addition to leadership duties, the role involves providing technical input to deliver the Production Engineering scope and supporting business development opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Developing the Engineering capability strategically and tactically
• Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives across engineering functions
• Providing engineering inputs to programs
• Contributing to Business Development campaigns and proposals
• Managing tasks related to direct reports
• Developing and maintaining Statement of Work (SOW) for current and future program needs
• Responding to SOW changes, assessing impacts, and negotiating modifications
• Reporting on functional performance metrics
• Monitoring project performance and lessons learned
• Coordinating resources and supporting program reviews
• Planning risk, issue, and opportunity mitigation strategies
• Providing technical coordination for project execution

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Knowledge of Material Review Board, Manufacturing Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Industrial Engineering processes
• Experience in Technical Planning and Systems Engineering
• Strong IT skills and customer-facing, leadership abilities
• Influence skills across teams and out-of-the-box thinking
• Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
