Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

Telent is a technology company enabling critical infrastructure through communication networks. We are recruiting an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas, including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

This role involves working with a supportive team to deliver maintenance, installation, cabling, and civils works, crucial for maintaining the nation's infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

• Attend to cable breaks and repair copper and fibre cables.
• Complete commissioning of equipment to standards, on time, and within budget.
• Address equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Perform general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Complete all required documentation promptly.

Who you are:

You should have prior experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing/testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
