Job Description:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom (Remote). Telent is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, performing maintenance and commissioning activities within designated areas including the top of M25, M4, M11, and bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Join a team that supports critical infrastructure, ensuring connectivity and safety across the UK. The role involves working with a supportive team while also requiring initiative and problem-solving skills in the field.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables.
• Completing commissioning of equipment to standards, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets, day or night.
• Performing general maintenance and testing on fibre and copper equipment.
• Completing documentation accurately and timely.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with knowledge of fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments. Experience with motorway communications systems, telecommunication networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing, and a full UK driving license are required.
