In-House Construction Solicitor (Non-Contentious)

Location: Bath

Salary: up to £65K plus 10% car allowance

Yolk Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of an in-house Solicitor position with a leading construction and engineering consultancy. Working within a highly experienced Commercial & Legal team, this role offers the chance to support a global project portfolio including major developers, Premier League Football Clubs, top-tier universities, and renowned architects. It is a unique in-house legal role involving cross-border work, contract negotiation, and involvement in high-profile developments in the built environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical and commercially focused legal advice on non-contentious construction and commercial matters.
• Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing consultancy agreements, warranties, novations, sub-consultant contracts, and related legal documentation.
• Advising on risk mitigation and supporting internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promoting adherence to corporate governance frameworks and advising on exceptions where appropriate.
• Supporting legal training initiatives and improving internal legal systems and processes.

Requirements

• A UK legal qualification with 0-4 years' PQE.
• Solid experience in non-contentious construction law, with exposure to commercial legal matters preferred.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• A commercial mindset with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and effective workload management.
