Job description

In order to provide key customer project management focus across some key programmes, we are looking to recruit a Project Manager to support onsite at our customer whilst supporting the SESUK leadership and the internal engineering processes.

Role Overview

The role requires excellent senior stakeholder management, and experience in being able to push back and manage expectations. The role is data and digital focused, so we would welcome candidates with a background in computer science, project management, and engineering.

You will work closely with the wider SES project organisation to achieve on-site project objectives (Scope, Schedule, Cost, and Quality) through planning, execution, and closure of all project-related activities. You will collect metrics from various data sources (e.g., financial data, sales figures, logistics costs) and analyze the results using statistical techniques to provide insightful reports that support crucial organisational decisions.

Contract Details

This role is available immediately on a permanent contract. It is based onsite at our customer site in Cwmbran, with hybrid working (1-2 days from home) once the probation period is completed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the main point of contact for the key customer and other project stakeholders.
  2. Create and deliver project work plans (schedules), proposals, and revise them as needed to meet changing requirements.
  3. Identify resources and assign responsibilities locally, collaborating with the SES project organisation for offsite resources.
  4. Manage daily operational aspects of the project.
  5. Contribute to financial reporting for invoicing to the Sales/Finance department.
  6. Ensure effective communication of project status to stakeholders.
  7. Analyze variances in schedule, cost, and quality; initiate corrective actions as needed.
  8. Perform onsite project closure activities and document lessons learned.
  9. Examine technological innovations to enhance the company's products and services.
  10. Promote innovative thinking to leverage technological advances for better solutions.
  11. Assess and improve the efficiency of existing processes, evaluating potential impacts of changes.
