Global HR Payroll Innovation Manager, London
We’re recruiting for a Global HR Payroll Innovation Manager to join us. You will ensure the efficient and compliant processing of payroll across various L&G regions. This role involves acting as the main link between L&G HR, Tax, Finance, and Payroll (both internal and external) processing teams with the aim to improve and redevelop the Payroll & Benefits process including technology development, future-proofing process improvements, creation of a longer-term global payroll strategy and roadmap, and building internal skills and capability.
The scope of this role includes managing domestic and shadow payrolls for the UK alongside internal global payroll teams.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading on the design and implementation of the payroll & benefits strategy/process to ensure remediation & compliance across HR, Finance & external parties such as (with Group Tax support) HMRC
- Implementing cost optimisation of payroll expenses, improving employee satisfaction and productivity through leveraging automation and specialist outsourcing.
- Ensuring well-established, tightly controlled processes adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to payroll, taxes, and record-keeping
- Establishing new processes and controls within L&G, with its tax advisors (and Group Tax) to ensure timely access to tax authority data through local country portals and regular information updates
- Updating/upskilling L&G payroll, HR, and finance teams on enhanced processes and controls in the payroll systems and steps to reconcile data between L&G and tax authorities
- Owning and managing payroll/payroll technology-related risks working with Risk Oversight teams, Supplier Management, and Information Security and Group Tax
- Producing regular MI to demonstrate the quality of customer outcomes being delivered and taking appropriate action where this is not the case, including escalation to senior management and divisional risk teams
- Managing, motivating, and developing employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures to maximize performance
Who we’re looking for:
- Good communication skills both verbal and written and ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Ability to establish and maintain robust processes and controls
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work with tools such as Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint to analyze data and display findings visually
- Experience with payroll processing, controls, and management for international individuals
- Dealing with multiple payrolls including global and shadow payrolls
- Understanding of different stakeholder requirements facing into payroll including HR, Finance, and Tax
- Previous international bureau payroll experience is essential
