Job Description

We are recruiting a Global HR Payroll Innovation Manager. This role ensures efficient, compliant payroll processing across L&G regions, acting as the key link between HR, Tax, Finance, and Payroll teams (both internal and external). The focus is on improving payroll processes, technology development, and building a long-term global payroll strategy and capabilities.

The scope includes managing domestic and shadow payrolls for the UK alongside internal global payroll teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement payroll & benefits strategies to ensure compliance and remediation with HR, Finance, and external agencies (with Group Tax support).
  • Optimize payroll costs through automation and outsourcing to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity.
  • Maintain processes that comply with local, state, and federal laws related to payroll and taxes.
  • Develop processes with tax advisors to ensure timely access to tax authority data using local portals.
  • Upskill payroll, HR, and finance teams on processes and controls, and reconcile payroll data with tax authorities.
  • Manage payroll-related risks, working with Risk Oversight, Supplier Management, Information Security, and Group Tax.
  • Produce MI reports on customer outcomes and escalate issues to senior management when necessary.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop team members to maximize performance.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Robust process and control establishment skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience in payroll processing, controls, and management for international employees.
  • Handling multiple payrolls, including global and shadow payrolls.
  • Understanding stakeholder requirements across HR, Finance, and Tax.
  • Previous international bureau payroll experience is essential.
