Job Description

We are recruiting a Global HR Payroll Innovation Manager. You will ensure efficient, compliant payroll processing across various L&G regions, acting as the main liaison between HR, Tax, Finance, and Payroll teams (internal and external). Your focus will be on improving and redeveloping payroll and benefits processes, including technology development, future-proofing, creating a global payroll strategy and roadmap, and building internal skills and capabilities.

This role includes managing domestic and shadow payrolls for the UK alongside global payroll teams.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Designing and implementing payroll & benefits strategies to ensure compliance and remediation across HR, Finance, and external bodies like HMRC.
  2. Optimizing payroll costs and enhancing employee satisfaction through automation and outsourcing.
  3. Ensuring processes comply with local, state, and federal laws related to payroll, taxes, and record-keeping.
  4. Collaborating with tax advisors and Group Tax to establish processes for timely tax authority data access.
  5. Upskilling payroll, HR, and finance teams on processes, controls, and data reconciliation.
  6. Managing payroll-related risks in conjunction with Risk Oversight, Supplier Management, Security, and Tax teams.
  7. Producing MI reports to monitor customer outcomes and escalate issues as necessary.
  8. Leading, motivating, and developing team members to maximize performance.
Qualifications

We're seeking someone with:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of engaging at all levels.
  • Robust process and control establishment skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tools like Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience with international payroll processing and controls.
  • Handling multiple payrolls, including global and shadow payrolls.
  • Understanding stakeholder requirements across HR, Finance, and Tax departments.
  • Previous international bureau payroll experience is essential.
