Description
The Northern European Asset Management department is a growing team responsible for delivering financial support services under Management Service Agreements (MSAs) across multiple clients owning renewable assets including onshore wind farms, solar farms, and storage farms. The department manages over 150 companies with a team of 22 across 12 clients, and in some regions, over 180 companies with 37 team members across 17 clients.
This role is a Client Lead position, working alongside other Client Leads and supervising management accountants. The role requires adaptability to changing priorities and ensuring high-quality service delivery to a portfolio of operational assets, holding companies, and consolidations under the AMA scope.
The main responsibilities include overseeing monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, distribution calculations, annual budgets, bank loan compliance, financial statement preparation, and audit management. Maintaining a robust control environment, providing excellent client service, leading a team, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders are key aspects of this role.
Key accountabilities include supervising the team’s financial reporting, acting as the primary client contact, guiding and training team members, delivering financial forecasts, managing budgeting and reporting processes, ensuring statutory compliance, overseeing bank and tax obligations, collaborating on statutory and consolidated account preparation, resolving technical accounting issues, driving process improvements, supporting system implementations, maintaining internal controls, managing company secretary records, and overseeing client onboarding processes.
The candidate should possess strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with IFRS, FRS 102, FRS 101, UK GAAP, and industry experience in renewables is preferable. Qualifications include a qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Skills required include excellent communication, team management, process improvement, and system skills, with experience in managing multiple entities and clients, ideally within the renewables sector.
