Job description

Contract type: Full time (37.5 hours) – Permanent

Location: Cardiff, Cardiff International Study Centre

Salary: up to £39,605.59 per annum

Role Overview

As a Tutor in the Business, Law and Humanities Department at the ISC, you will develop and teach psychology modules across various programmes, including level-3 International Foundation Year (IFY), level-4 International Year 1 (IY1), and level-6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP). You may also be requested to deliver modules in other disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area (Essential)
  • Teaching qualification (Essential)
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience teaching in UK higher education or sixth form (Essential for level 6, Desirable for levels 4 and 6)
  • Experience working with international students (Essential)
  • Experience in fast-paced environments and meeting deadlines (Desirable)
Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver and develop modules and teaching sessions, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials, with a workload of up to 25 hours per week.
  2. Mark assessments and provide timely feedback, including writing student reports and tutorials.
  3. Develop and update course materials for modules and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  4. Participate in induction, orientation, and registration programs with the Student Experience team.
  5. Ensure student welfare and progression support through liaison with colleagues.
  6. Implement quality assurance procedures and contribute to course monitoring and review.
  7. Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
  8. Engage in standardisation, moderation, and quality assurance meetings.
  9. Attend and contribute to staff meetings and participate in training and development activities.
  10. Perform any other duties as assigned by centre managers.
