Job description

The Trust is seeking an enthusiastic procurement professional to join the Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective end-to-end procurement service across various Corporate categories to internal stakeholders and business units.

The post holder will handle negotiations for high-value or complex tenders and contracts for goods and services within the Corporate categories, aiming to achieve the most advantageous outcomes for the Trust.

The Procurement department offers procurement and supply chain services to the Trust. It develops strategies to meet the procurement needs of individual business units and the Trust overall, while delivering measurable savings aligned with the Trust’s formal Savings Plan. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Procurement Manager within the Corporate team, a role pivotal in delivering significant savings to the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct formal high-value tenders in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023.
2. Create and draft tender documents and notices for publication to FTS.
3. Evaluate tender responses in detail, using appropriate financial assessment and supply criteria. Guide business units and stakeholders through the evaluation process.
4. Award contracts and provide de-briefings to suppliers, service providers, and departments as needed.
5. Prepare and update tender reports, recording and reporting savings.
6. Ensure compliance with Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, procurement policies, and governance requirements.
7. Carry out procedures promptly to meet organizational needs.
8. Achieve annual cost reduction targets, taking responsibility for specific Corporate categories.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, managers, suppliers, and other NHS Trusts to identify value improvement opportunities.
10. Ensure stakeholder input in procurement decisions and specifications.
11. Engage with suppliers, service providers, and framework providers.
12. Prepare Freedom of Information responses as needed.
