Job Summary

Chaucer Group is an international insurance group with locations in London, Dublin, Copenhagen, Bermuda, Dubai, Singapore, Miami, and Sydney. This role serves as deputy to the global head of compliance, focusing on developing and enhancing the compliance framework across multiple jurisdictions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Compliance in leading and managing the Chaucer Group compliance team.
  • Promoting compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations across all entities.
  • Providing effective compliance support to the business, addressing queries and issues promptly.
  • Staying informed of regulatory developments and advising the business proactively on compliance matters.
Job Description
Compliance Management
  • Managing compliance for all relevant Chaucer Group entities with applicable regulations.
  • Developing and supporting team members' careers.
  • Implementing effective regulatory systems and controls, and communicating compliance issues effectively.
  • Building strong relationships with departments such as underwriting, claims, and overseas offices.
  • Organizing and monitoring compliance training programs for staff, emphasizing customer outcomes.

  • Technical competence in the compliance role, with awareness of policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Flexibility, quick learning ability, and adaptability to various tasks and projects.
  • Understanding of key business issues affecting profitability and growth.
  • Strategic thinking, decision-making based on sound judgment, and understanding organizational impact.
  • Leadership skills to foster high team standards, empower junior staff, and ensure quality work.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in the London insurance market, UK regulatory regime, Lloyd’s Managing Agency, and risk management.
  • Management or supervisory experience.
Education
  • Degree of 2.1 or higher.
