Are you a caring individual with a background in healthcare, ready to support students in a school setting?

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Classroom Nursing Assistant to join a supportive school community in Weymouth. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for candidates with medical or care experience who are eager to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners with additional needs.

About the Role:

As a Classroom Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with medical, physical, and learning needs within the classroom environment. Working alongside teachers and SEN professionals, you will ensure students’ health and educational needs are met with dignity, care, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical and physical support to students with specific care plans
• Monitor pupils’ health conditions and respond appropriately in case of emergencies
• Assist students with personal care, feeding, and mobility where needed
• Promote independence and confidence through gentle encouragement and routine
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and liaise with parents and external professionals
• Support inclusive classroom practices to ensure all students can engage in learning.
• Follow safeguarding and health and safety policies at all times.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in a healthcare, nursing, SEN, or care setting, preferably with children or young people.
• Basic medical knowledge and confidence in supporting individuals with complex needs.
• A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to care and support.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of medical conditions and how they impact education.
• Relevant qualifications in health & social care, childcare, or nursing are highly desirable.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
