influences bidding strategy, ensuring effective implementation of industry-leading bids, pitches and proposals, including associated digital and video editorial, in support of the Mace Group business plan targets and aspirations.
Leads resource planning and the delivery of bids and proposals, following the Mace bid process, to deliver high quality and accurate tender responses in line with the company’s brand, position and processes.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting Working Winning Director and Global Head of Pursuits with additional Consult growth and client management activities. Collaborates with SLT as a trusted advisor on priorities/requirements for the team.
- Directing the team resource planning and people development strategy, driving the development of team/s.
- Acting as a thought leader providing insight and knowledge.
- Engaging and influences senior stakeholders across the business.
- Supporting budget management, recruitment, talent development and progression and external communications/brand development within the bidding and work winning community.
- Providing and gaining insights and knowledge of relevant markets/service lines within the Engine, including competitor intelligence, procurement trends and bid and proposal best practice.
- Identifying new opportunities, working in partnership with business units, and delivers capture activities to best position Mace for opportunities
- Challenging and drives business units to deliver proactive capture ahead of opportunities being put out to market.
- Partnering with business units to identify and deliver proactive proposals in response to client pain points and issues.
- Following the Mace Bid Process to deliver a high quality, client-focused proposals/presentations.
- Ensuring direct reports follow the Mace Bid Process.
- Champion technical quality and commercial creativity within bids to deliver high scoring, error-free proposals/presentations.
- Ensuring all required reviews and adjudication/signoffs are achieved in line with Mace Way Engage.
- Taking the lead in the bid programme, ensuring content is fully compliant, quality checked to deliver a bid to deadline.
- Leading in the strategy within the entire bid team (leadership).
- Using and introducing tools and techniques to maintain the win rate and improve on it where practical
- Capturing new content within the Work Winning Content Hub (Aftercare).
- Supporting the facilitation, recording and sharing of lessons learnt/best practice.
- Delivering continuous improvements in processes through application of best practices and lessons learned. Drives transformational change.
- Supporting steering Co’s, working groups and initiatives as directed by the Engine SLT. Seek out new opportunities to support the Engine and Group growth, purpose and priorities.
- Supporting wider work winning related activities such as CRM, client reporting and client experience.
- Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- Resource and demand planning.
- Exemplar capture and bid delivery competence, with demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality, persuasive proposals and presentations.
- Significant line management and talent development experience.
- Strong competence in building relationships and managing senior stakeholders.
- Experience creating supporting media (storyboarding, stakeholder management, review and editing to deliver bespoke content aligned to bid strategy).
- Technical Competencies as set out in the senior manager job description.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft application; Teams, Sharepoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exemplar competence in the use of the Mural whiteboarding tool.
- Exemplar competence in the use of the Qorus bid management tool.
- Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent).
- Enthusiastic, passionate, smart, go-getting and determined professional.

You’ll also have:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent)
- APMP Professional accreditation.
- Competence across the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Competence in emerging digital tools (e.g. AI editorial software, video and animation software).
- APMP Professional accreditation.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard working hours.
- Change management.
- Strong presentation skills, able to lead briefings, workshops and meetings online and in person.
- Ability to work across time zones as appropriate.
- Extensive writing experience in a professional and/or journalistic environment.
- An understanding of the building/property industry preferred.
- Experience (or equivalent) specifically focused on bidding.
- APMP Capture/Micro-accreditations as appropriate to role.
