Job Purpose

Reporting to an Operations Manager, the primary responsibility of the role is to deliver O&M services to offshore renewable energy assets. Assets include offshore meteorological masts, wind turbines, offshore transmission assets including onshore and offshore substations, foundations, and subsea cables. The Technician role is to ensure that these services are delivered safely, on time, and in accordance with contractual requirements, standards, and specifications.

Organisational Context

You will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of onshore and/or offshore site activities under the O&M contract(s) or as additional services. This role requires regular communication with internal technicians and external contractors. You will work closely with the Offshore and UK&I O&M teams as well as other RES departments including HSE, Technical, and Engineering.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Delivery of operation and maintenance services, including but not limited to:
  2. Onshore and offshore electrical & mechanical work.
  3. Inspection and planned maintenance of assets.
  4. Reactive maintenance, which may require short-notice site visits.
  5. Housekeeping.
  6. Delivery of retrofits.
  7. Coordination of site works and monitoring of contract performance.
  8. Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  9. Ensuring compliance with safety rules and reporting issues.
  10. Inspection and maintenance of tools, equipment, and PPE.
  11. Providing information for client reports.
Competency and Skills
  1. Deliver planned and reactive offshore activities.
  2. Work effectively alone and as part of a team.
  3. Maintain complex systems with difficult access.
  4. Participate in on-call emergency response as required.
  5. Work flexibly outside normal hours due to offshore environment.
  6. Support procedures, processes, and technical literature development.
  7. Contribute to proposals and cost estimates.
Knowledge Needed
  • UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Data logging and communication systems.
  • Fault-finding in LV & mechanical systems.
  • Wind turbines and related equipment.
  • Balance of plant in offshore wind farms.
  • HV systems and safety rules.
  • Working at height and in confined spaces awareness.
Skills Needed
