About the job.
National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team in Digital Services. As a Senior Business Analyst in Digital Services, you will support and advise the business, programmes, and projects throughout the business change lifecycle, ensuring that change initiatives are aligned with the business objectives, strategy, and enterprise architecture.
You will leverage comprehensive business knowledge and experience to assess and advise on the feasibility of proposed options for business and technical change. You will also advise senior stakeholders on the relevance of business change priorities within the context of the wider organisational strategy and objectives. In addition to this you will also be responsible for supporting and managing junior members of the team and allocated third party suppliers.
Please note this is a hybrid position and can be based from any of our UK offices however, travel to Birmingham to attend team meetings will be required.
- Work with business stakeholders and Digital Services colleagues to facilitate the development of accurate and traceable requirements by understanding and analysing business objectives, data and processes, ensuring benefits are qualified, captured, and tracked through the life of the project.
- Function as a critical expert to challenge business objectives, ensuring that delivery results meet quality standards and that risks are minimised
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to model and analyse complex processes across business functions and programmes, identify innovative digital opportunities to optimise processes.
- Work with the business to identify and prioritise opportunities for improvements and efficiencies, ensuring that the Line of Service derives maximum value from services.
- Communicate with stakeholders clearly and regularly, clarifying mutual needs and commitments through consultation and consideration of impacts, while focusing on user needs
About you.- Expert in Business Analysis within the context of programme and project delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in using information and data modelling tools (manual or automated) to record the structure, relationships and use of information and data within an organisation, such as: class diagram and relational data model.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills to be able to process and explain large data sets, use tools (manual or automated) to record the structure, relationships and use of information within an organisation.
- Proficient in the understanding and application of different development approaches, these include iterative/ incremental methodologies (Agile, SCRUM) and sequential methodologies (Waterfall or V-Model) with understanding of DevOps as an approach, where development and operational staff work collaboratively.
- Highly proficient in the use of MS Office (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Visio)

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
