Qualifications

Job Description:

KPMG is enhancing its Tax and Legal practice by expanding our ability to offer support to our clients in connection to their pensions obligations. Our pensions team works alongside our 2,400 plus Tax and Legal colleagues, and the new roles we are adding to the team will be focused on delivering advice across our client base on matters related to pension provision and other pensions issues related to ongoing operations and transactions.

We are now looking for talented and experienced Consultants to join our pensions actuarial team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality actuarial pensions advice related to defined benefit pension schemes in the private sector.

You will work closely with senior team members, providing:

  • Strategic journey planning and risk management, aiming for self-sufficiency or buyout and endgame options, including surplus use.
  • Strategic funding advice to sponsors and compliance advice with DB funding code.
  • Pension due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Member education and communication.
  • Advice on benefit changes, design, and implementation.
  • Good governance and compliance advice.
  • Pensions accounting advice.

Description of the Role

  • Understand defined benefit pension schemes and actuarial liability calculations.
  • Understand pension accounting.
  • Analyze client data using actuarial techniques and models.
  • Produce technical actuarial work adhering to standards and quality procedures.
  • Check reasonableness of assumptions and results using KPMG tools.
  • Draft reports/emails based on outputs.
  • Assist with case management and administration.
  • Support project delivery within timelines.
  • Develop technical knowledge.
  • Maintain open communication within the team.
  • Manage financials, billing, and collections.
