An exciting opportunity has arisen within North Lincolnshire Council's Healthy Lifestyles Team.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual join a growing team as one of our Healthy Lifestyles Facilitators on up to a 1-year fixed term basis.
The Healthy Lifestyles team works to raise awareness of the benefits of good health and provide practical support to help people improve their knowledge, skills and confidence to be able to lead healthier lifestyles. This post will contribute to reducing health inequalities by principally focussing on addressing the needs of communities and groups that have a poorer health status than the rest of North Lincolnshire.
You will work alongside a team of knowledgeable, dedicated team members including facilitators, operational support clerks and coordinators to deliver stop smoking support, Why Weight? (weight management) and Cook4Life programmes in a community setting with further potential opportunities to be involved with delivery of our specialist support programmes for LD and Autism and/or Menopause support.
We are looking for an individual who can:
- engage with and identify health needs and concerns of members of the community, particularly those with which there is little current engagement or where there are health inequalities.
- deliver safe, well organised and evidence-based interventions to North Lincolnshire residents accessing the team.
- manage and organise own workload and to work unsupervised within a designated area (or areas) / locality (or localities).
- work in a non-judgemental manner and consider individual needs including equality, diversity and social inclusion in all aspects of work.
- support individuals to make informed choices about their health and wellbeing and support them in initiating and sustaining appropriate behavioural changes to improve their health (1-1 or group).
