Job Description

The De Beers Group Corporate Sustainability Team is responsible for shaping the Building Forever sustainability strategy, supporting the organization in fulfilling its commitments, coordinating ESG governance and reporting, sharing ESG achievements externally, managing flagship partnerships (such as UN Women and Okavango Eternal with National Geographic), and identifying opportunities to maximize the value of ESG initiatives across the business. The team maintains a dynamic strategy approach, horizon-scanning for current issues, integrating the needs of various stakeholders, and developing long-term solutions for communities, ecosystems, and underrepresented groups. We also serve as a business partner and center of expertise, advising on sustainability strategy, implementation, and disclosures.


The role of Sustainability Reporting Manager reports to the Interim Chief Sustainability Officer / SVP Sustainable Impact. You will collaborate closely with the broader sustainability team and across the Group to support our shared goals.


This role involves ensuring our external sustainability disclosures are clear, concise, and engaging, aligning with best practices and telling compelling stories for diverse stakeholders. The job requires working collaboratively across the Group, engaging with external fora, and ensuring De Beers has the systems, analytics, and insights to produce world-class sustainability reports.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership
  • Lead ESG disclosure strategy, reporting, and assurance to align with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications and Employee Engagement teams to gather information and data for communication and stakeholder engagement.

Delivery
  • Manage the annual ESG disclosure process, including messaging, content interviews, and regulatory updates.
  • Coordinate with Anglo-American Sustainability team for alignment and shared reporting efforts.
  • Support the implementation of the Analyse and Improve Framework to measure, analyze, and enhance sustainability performance.

Engagement
  • Support team efforts to promote Building Forever through awareness campaigns, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in ESG/Sustainability reporting within a large corporate.
  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in social or environmental sciences.
  • Preferred experience in mining or luxury sectors.
  • Strong project management, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of ESG strategy development, impact measurement, and evolving disclosure landscape.
  • Proficiency with ESG data management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive, and autonomous work style.
  • Passionate about sustainability and able to connect external developments to business needs.
