An established industry player is seeking dedicated registered nurses to join their Research Team. This is an exciting opportunity for two registered nurses, educated to a degree level, with substantial clinical nursing experience, to work in research delivery. These roles are to cover a secondment and maternity leave. We seek candidates who can multitask, are resourceful, patient-centered, and capable of working both in clinical settings and an office environment (IT, e-calendars, virtual meetings, data management, etc). Prior experience in research delivery is preferred.
The post holders will join our team and be responsible for the setup, delivery, and follow-up of research studies across various specialties. Therefore, a strong clinical background, ability to process complex information, and confidence are essential. Due to the nature of research, workload may vary depending on departmental needs and will span different specialties. Gaining insight into research governance, delivery, and processes to support evidence-based practice is a valuable career development opportunity, enhancing communication, organizational skills, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The post holders will work within the Research Team at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, primarily to promote patient entry into clinical trials across the Trust. They will work within the Generic Research team, focusing on DOCC, but will also support other areas as needed. The key responsibilities include raising awareness of, delivering, and following up on clinical trials, with the goal of increasing patient recruitment in line with NIHR objectives.
Central to this role is the recruitment, education, and monitoring of patients entering clinical trials. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records is essential. The post holders will collaborate closely with clinical teams and support departments to improve care quality and clinical outcomes. Delivery of the service level agreement with the Thames Valley and South Midlands Clinical Research Network (TVSMCRN) is also a vital component.
Contracts will be issued by Milton Keynes University Hospital on behalf of the TVSMCRN, on a fixed-term basis, with extension subject to funding.
