An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Research Nurse within Academic Radiotherapy. The post holder will work in the Bob Champion Unit at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton. We are a highly regarded multidisciplinary team engaged in both clinical and research work, pioneering in urology cancer treatment. The nurse will manage their own caseload, run nurse-led clinics, and support the wider research team.

Ideally, candidates will have previous clinical research experience in urology and be educated to degree level. They will work within guidelines and policies for clinical trials, maintaining high standards of practice in line with GCP principles.

The successful applicant should be flexible, capable of working independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication, administrative, and IT skills, along with a supportive attitude and openness to new initiatives, are highly valued.

The research nurse will operate as a self-directed practitioner, organizing and managing clinical trials related to cancer treatment, symptom management, or screening. Key responsibilities include recruiting, educating, and monitoring trial participants, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, and supporting patient advocacy.

The role includes supporting junior research nurses through education and training, monitoring nursing standards, and potentially undertaking personal research or further study in consultation with senior staff.
