We're now looking for a talented Network Engineer to support and develop our networking capabilities across innovative national and international projects.
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable computer networks that underpin our cutting-edge marine surveillance systems. You'll support our project teams both remotely and in the field, providing technical leadership through the full lifecycle of complex deployments.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, design, and implement network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) across UK and international sites
- Configure and test network hardware/software including firewalls, switches, routers, WAPs, and CCTV systems
- Monitor and optimise network performance to ensure high availability and efficiency
- Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware/software issues across diverse environments
- Apply and uphold network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards
- Collaborate closely with other engineering and support teams, vendors, and stakeholders
- Provide field-based support during system deployments, as well as assist with planning, testing, and LLD documentation
- Support international deployment activities, sometimes at short notice
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure and transport layers
- Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VOIP systems
- Solid understanding of network security technologies and standards
- Proven troubleshooting skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate across functions and guide project teams
