We're now looking for a talented Network Engineer to support and develop our networking capabilities across innovative national and international projects.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and reliable computer networks that underpin our cutting-edge marine surveillance systems. You'll support our project teams both remotely and in the field, providing technical leadership through the full lifecycle of complex deployments.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Plan, design, and implement network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) across UK and international sites
2. Configure and test network hardware/software including firewalls, switches, routers, WAPs, and CCTV systems
3. Monitor and optimise network performance to ensure high availability and efficiency
4. Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware/software issues across diverse environments
5. Apply and uphold network security best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and access controls
6. Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and standards
7. Collaborate closely with other engineering and support teams, vendors, and stakeholders
8. Provide field-based support during system deployments, as well as assist with planning, testing, and LLD documentation
9. Support international deployment activities, sometimes at short notice

What You'll Bring

1. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
2. Strong technical expertise in network infrastructure and transport layers
3. Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
4. Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VOIP systems
5. Solid understanding of network security technologies and standards
6. Proven troubleshooting skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
7. Effective communicator, able to collaborate across functions and guide project teams
