About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive 3rd Line Network Engineer to join an MSP client who is expanding their IT infrastructure team.

This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering robust and secure network solutions.

The 3rd Line Engineer will serve as the escalation point for complex network issues, playing a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our clients' network infrastructure. Experience with Fortigate Firewalls is essential, including configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Fortinet solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the final escalation point for network-related incidents and problems.
• Design, implement, and support secure network solutions across various environments.
• Configure and maintain Fortigate Firewalls (FortiOS), including VPNs, policies, and UTM features.
• Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Participate in on-call support to provide 24/7 coverage for critical issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Proven experience with Fortigate Firewalls (FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer is a plus).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.).
• Experience with enterprise switching and routing (Cisco, HP, or similar).
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
• Experience with modern workplace environments (Windows 10/11).
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 onwards.
• Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is advantageous.
• ITIL certification is desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Desirable Certifications

• Fortinet NSE 4 or higher (preferred).
• Cisco CCNP or equivalent.
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
