Role Purpose
You will support the Legal Team's vision to ensure the Council acts lawfully and maintains high standards of governance to achieve its objectives for the local community. We seek a team player with enthusiasm who can contribute to the delivery of the Council’s corporate plan. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your legal career and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist legal advice, representation, and assistance in Housing, Litigation, and Regulatory law.
- Deliver a high-quality legal service to officers, elected Members, and partners.
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for an individual with experience in:
- Regulatory law, including Environmental Health prosecutions and planning enforcement.
- Advocacy in Magistrates Court and County Court.
- Housing and Tenancy law, including possession and disrepair cases.
- Legal sector experience; local government experience is desirable but not essential.
- Qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with current Practising Certificate.
