Qualifications

  • Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung im Verkauf technischer Produkte, vorzugsweise im Automobilbereich.
  • Erfahrung im Kundenbeziehungsmanagement und der Verhandlung von Verträgen.

Technical Business Development Account Manager

Basic Salary circa £50-60,000 per annum very dependant on experience + Bonus + Car allowance + excellent benefits

Monday-Thursday 36 hour week

Division of a Global Manufacturer South Wales

The role requires a background in Engineering and/or selling into the Manufacturing industry. Automotive or related industry experience would be ideal.

You will be an experienced Commercial Business Development Manager with considerable Senior Account Management skills gained in Manufacturing or Engineering, ideally for an Automotive component manufacturer. You must have experience selling manufactured products, particularly bespoke Engineered products into leading manufacturers. Experience of Customer Costings and Customer contract negotiation is essential.

Reporting to: European Sales Director, this is a Senior Technical Sales and Account Management role and does not require extensive people management experience. An Engineering background would be an advantage.

General Purpose of Role
  • Managing allocated customer accounts, with customer satisfaction and P&L responsibility.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities to meet customer requirements and deliver high-quality service.
  • Prospect for new customers aligned with company strategy and integrate them into the business.
  • Oversee and manage account managers' performance, set targets, and monitor progress.
Main Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Be the first point of contact for allocated customers, maintain and develop relationships, regularly visit customers.
  • Prospect for additional business within existing accounts.
  • Responsible for P&L and margin development.
  • Obtain forecasts and anticipate significant demand changes.
  • Represent the voice of the customer within the company.
  • Sales Management and Business Development: Develop and implement sales strategies with the Sales Director, focus on expanding current customer portfolio, develop new markets, liaise with other divisions, attend industry events, manage RFQ responses, review documentation, and ensure smooth onboarding of new customers.
  • People Management: Work on account management plans with team members, monitor KPIs set by the Sales Director.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience, preferably with technical knowledge or automotive experience.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years in sales of technical or industrial products, with sales management experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal skills, customer service understanding, ability to evaluate personnel, set performance targets, and deliver training. Self-motivated with the ability to set and meet challenging targets.
  • Experience selling bespoke engineered products into manufacturing sectors, preferably automotive or aerospace.
