We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to lead the team at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Waltham Abbey.

The Role:

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef and oversee kitchen operations across bar, restaurant, banqueting, and room service. Your culinary team will believe in perfection, simplicity, and creativity. This is a hands-on role where you will lead from the front to ensure the highest quality food is delivered while training and developing the team.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Driving the quality of food in all areas through taste, presentation, and team development
  2. Working within budgets and controls in payroll, food cost, and consumables
  3. Evaluating guest satisfaction, recognizing success, and planning for continuous improvement
  4. Maintaining close working relationships with Sales, Event Operations, Bar, and Restaurant teams; supporting client showrounds, sales events, and meetings
  5. Delivering seamless and memorable events, ensuring all guest requests are met
  6. Ensuring compliance with food safety standards and that the team adheres to them daily
  7. Supporting, training, and developing the culinary team into future senior chefs
  8. Supporting local culinary college students to promote the industry, offer work opportunities, and share your culinary journey
  9. Keeping up to date with industry trends and innovations to incorporate into the hotel
  10. Complying with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislation
Our Ideal Candidate:

You will have a proven track record in a similar role within a hotel environment, be a passionate chef with a warm, people-centered demeanor, an eye for detail, and a positive, outgoing personality. You will advocate for developing future chefs.
