Job Title: Senior Regulatory Technologist – Cosmetics & Beauty

Job Type: Full-time - Permanent position

Cpl is collaborating with a growing beauty and skincare company with a large customer base, including high street retailers worldwide, online fashion retailers, and licensed products. The focus is on colour cosmetics, skincare, hair care, body care, and fragrance.

The business seeks a Senior Regulatory Technologist to join a rapidly growing, high-energy company in Northwest England. The role involves designing and manufacturing private label and branded cosmetic products from concept to delivery.

The regulatory team focuses on compliance and customer needs to ensure products meet high standards of quality and commerciality. The role will collaborate with Brand, NPD, Manufacturing, Laboratory, and Commercial teams to provide technical expertise for new formulations and portfolio maintenance.

Main areas of responsibility:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Assess and ensure compliance of cosmetic products with regulations.
• Meet customer requirements, including standards from The Vegan Society, Cruelty Free International, RSPO, etc.
• Prepare, review, and submit regulatory documents.
• Stay updated on legislative changes affecting cosmetics.

Documentation and Submissions:

• Maintain regulatory policies for global products, including Cosmetic Product Information Files (PIFs) and CPSRs.
• Develop and manage technical files for submissions.
• Ensure documentation is accurate and current.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work with product development, quality control, and research teams.
• Advise on regulatory requirements for new and modified products.
• Respond to regulatory agency inquiries.

Strategic Planning:

• Conduct impact assessments for product changes.
• Manage regulatory horizon scanning processes.
• Develop strategies to mitigate regulatory risks.

Quality Assurance:

• Participate in audits for compliance.
• Keep detailed records of regulatory activities.

Essential requirements/qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years in cosmetic regulatory affairs, ideally with global experience.
• Calm under pressure, able to manage conflicting priorities.
• Experience with labeling and artwork.
• Experience managing NPD activities globally.
• Confidence in the cosmetics market.
