Job Title: Policy Consultant

Work Place Flexibility: Hybrid

Legal Entity: Entergy Services, Inc.-ESI (OLD)

Location: This position may be filled in Jackson, MS (preferred), New Orleans, LA, Woodlands, TX, or Little Rock, AR.

Job Summary/Purpose

Assess, develop, and implement policy strategies for the Entergy Power Delivery organization. Support compliance with NERC Reliability Standards, including implementing compliance programs and promoting a compliance culture. Responsibilities include supporting the NERC standards lifecycle, utilizing governance, risk management, and compliance tools, and assisting with assessments and audits.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Provide guidance and support on policy issues, coordinating with various business units to implement NERC standards.
  2. Assess the technical and economic impact of regulations and governmental activities using energy and utility business practices.
  3. Analyze and recommend strategies for NERC Standards implementation and execution.
  4. Lead discussions with management, regulators, auditors, and stakeholders to resolve disagreements and build consensus.
  5. Prepare and support testimony, comments, and filings in regulatory proceedings.
  6. Review and influence regulatory rulemaking from agencies like FERC and NERC.
  7. Monitor and influence changes in reliability requirements, ensuring compliance and supporting audits.
  8. Support NERC compliance activities such as policy administration, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  9. Additional duties include acting as UFLS Program Owner, supporting nuclear stability studies, participating in industry groups, and supporting regulatory activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, policy-making, and governance.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Working Conditions

Office environment with minimal physical requirements. Flexibility to work additional hours, in alternate locations, or during emergencies as needed. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime for such duties.
