Job Role:

Mobile Plant Engineer

Location:

Norwich, Norfolk

Salary:

£30,000-£35,000 base salary

Hours:

Monday-Friday 07.00-16.30 + Overtime @ 1.5x

The Client

Interaction Technical have partnered with a well-established and national plant hire firm to support the growth of their team. Our client, established for over 50 years, is looking to onboard & train engineers from plant, HGV, Automotive, or Agricultural backgrounds. They offer comprehensive training and internal progression routes.

The Package

• 22 days Annual Leave + Public Holidays, increasing by 1 day per year of service (up to 25)
• Overtime over 8 hours per day paid at 1.5x (£21-£24/hour)
• Minimum of 5 hours of overtime weekly (average 15-20 hours), providing additional income (£5,460pa at minimum, £18,564 at average)
• Salary Sacrifice Scheme for an additional 5 days annual leave
• Full training & development with internal progression: Workshop/Mobile Engineer > Lead Engineer > Hiring Manager > Site Manager > Regional Manager
• Promotions include salary and benefits increases

The Requirements

• Experience in plant, automotive, HGV, or agricultural industries (essential)
• Experience with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems (essential)
• Engine experience (advantageous)
• Fault finding, repair, and service skills in electrical and mechanical systems
• Desire to lead and manage a team
• Relevant qualifications (NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering) (advantageous)
• Full UK driver’s license

The Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites for maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide recommendations
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance
• Train and support clients’ staff on machinery operation and maintenance
• Maintain detailed service records
• Communicate with the in-house engineering team to improve products
