The Casey Group
Rochdale, Greater Manchester
We are currently recruiting a Bid Writer to cover a period of maternity leave for a period of 12 months.
While the role is advertised as full-time, we’re open to discussing part-time arrangements (3 or 4 days a week) depending on experience and fit.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in bid writing — even a little experience goes a long way if you’re enthusiastic, organised, and keen to grow. Experience within construction, civils, public realm etc. is not essential, what matters most is your ability to craft clear, compelling responses.
You’ll be confident working across teams, leading meetings, and collaborating with technical staff to turn ideas into winning proposals. Attention to detail, strong organisation, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
The role involves supporting the full bid lifecycle — from early planning and writing through to handovers and mobilisation. You'll also help maintain our bid library, create case studies, and occasionally attend site visits to strengthen content with real-world insight.
Experience of Adobe InDesign, or similar software, would be highly beneficial, but not essential.
If you’re proactive, a strong communicator, and enjoy turning complex information into compelling content, we’d love to hear from you.
The role of a Bid Writer at The Casey Group

·Organise and chair pre-construction meetings to support collaborative bid development and strategy.
·Write, review, and format bid content, ensuring high-quality, brand-aligned submissions that directly address client questions.
·Liaise with clients on clarification questions and maintain accurate bid data within Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
·Collaborate with operational, mobilisation, and project teams to ensure bid solutions are understood and effectively transitioned into delivery.
·Prepare mobilisation packs and support contract handovers, addressing key operational and contractual elements.
·Maintain and develop internal bid resources, including a library of case studies, Q&As, and company information for future use.
·Support marketing efforts by producing project case studies, external materials, and presentations for client and stakeholder engagement.
·Attend site visits and lead on quality assurance throughout the tender lifecycle.
