The Role
We are seeking a
motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in
Lewisham from
September 2025. This is a
full-time, permanent role, ideal for a dedicated teacher with strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young minds. The ability to teach
Biology, Chemistry, or Physics to KS4 is essential; experience with
KS5 is desirable but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Teach one or more science specialisms (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), with opportunities to contribute to KS5 if appropriate.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
- Foster a safe and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity and academic achievement.
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and extra-curricular science-based activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate fully in school life, including parents' evenings and CPD.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school (ECTs are encouraged to apply).
- High expectations of behaviour and achievement for all students.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of students.
