Clinical
Work according to the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker, taking responsibility for the assessment of care and health education needs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate care plans in conjunction with service users, carers, and other professionals, ensuring individual needs are met.
As a named nurse, undertake mental and behavioural state examinations for your own service users and those being admitted, with assessments repeated at least weekly, along with clinical risk assessments and management plans.
Assist service users in meeting their personal care needs, such as bathing and washing, as outlined in the Care Plan. This intervention may be delegated where appropriate.
Liaise with and offer specialist assessment and advice to other agencies and professionals, including participating in Multi-Agency meetings to facilitate ongoing treatment and care, ensuring adherence to National Service Framework (NSF) guidelines.
Support service users in managing their medication within a concordance framework and relevant policies. Administer medication, including intra-muscular injections and depot medication as appropriate, and monitor for side effects. Delegate checking and delivery of medication when suitable.
