Clinical Fellow Posts in Cardiology

Applications are invited for two Clinical Fellow positions in Cardiology:

  • Clinical Fellow: The role is focused on general cardiology, offering opportunities for foundational subspecialty training in imaging, coronary angiography, pacemaker implantation, and heart failure therapies. This position is ideal for trainees at the ST5+ level who are developing their competencies and preparing for higher subspecialty training applications.
Main duties of the job

Both fellows will be involved in the registrar-of-the-week rota for inpatient care and will participate in the cardiology on-call service, including assisting with primary PCI procedures.

The Cardiology Unit at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is fully equipped for advanced interventional procedures, bradycardia pacing, complex device implantation, and sophisticated imaging techniques such as complex echocardiography, CT coronary angiography, and cardiac MRI. These posts are suitable for candidates seeking to strengthen their experience in preparation for securing a National Training Number (NTN) or completing the CESR pathway.

The department includes 16 full-time Consultant Cardiologists and 2 Professors of Cardiology, with strong academic and research collaborations with Birmingham University and Aston University. More information about our activities can be found on our website.
