Business Development Manager – Drainage & Environmental

Location: M4 Corridor (Reading, Slough, Swindon, Bristol, Newbury, Oxford, Maidenhead)
Salary: £40,000 + Commission + Company Car
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to join their growing team within the drainage andEnvironmentalsector.

Covering the M4 corridor, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while managing and expanding relationships with existing clients across key commercial and industrial sectors.

This is a client-facing, solutions-led role that requires someone with strong industry knowledge and a passion for delivering results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities within drainage services, waste management, and related environmental solutions.

  • Identify and approach potential clients in the commercial, industrial, and construction sectors.

  • Deliver tailored service proposals and tenders in line with customer needs and company offerings.

  • Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders to ensure account retention and growth.

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals.

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity using CRM systems.

  • Collaborate closely with operations and service teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and service delivery.

Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in B2B sales, preferably within drainage services or total waste management.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the waste/environmental services market.

  • Ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and account handover.

  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
