The Investor Relations (“IR”) team is a strategic asset at Baker Hughes, responsible for developing and managing relationships with the investment community on a global basis. The role of the IR department is to provide a clear and consistent message to current and prospective shareholders through a variety of channels, including quarterly earnings, conferences, roadshows and meetings. The function of IR is to provide equal access to all shareholders or potential investors to information that Baker Hughes chooses to make publicly available. The team works closely with executive management and keeps them apprised of Street views, trends and results that affect the company and/or our stock.

The Investor Relations Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of Baker Hughes’ investor relation activities and will interact frequently with both external and internal audiences, including shareholders, investment & research analysts, senior management and employees. The Senior Manager will work closely with various departments and corporate leadership to continue to build the company’s reputation and value as an energy technology company. The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President of Investor Relations.
As our new Investor Relations Manager you will:
Help analyze quarterly performance and convey critical information to senior management in their interactions with shareholders and analysts
Understand market trends, opinions, and reactions to Baker Hughes and competitors and provide strategic insights that will help inform senior management investment, operating, and financial decisions
Track analyst reports to rigorously assess Baker Hughes’s positioning in the investor, technology, and industrial communities
Draft important investor messages and Q&A that will be used by Baker Hughes senior leaders when discussing matters externally
Use a common framework for communicating the strategic, financial, and operational goals associated with our activities
Support the BOD meetings with analysis and information on company performance, shareholder structure, competitive intelligence, investor perception and ESG
Work with business unit leaders and commercial representatives to stay abreast of business fundamentals, commercial updates, business development matters, and current events across the Company
Support the development and execution of the overall IR strategy.
Shareholder & Analyst Relations
Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors and sell-side analyst around the world
Manage participation in investor conferences, roadshows, bus tours, on-site meetings, annual shareholder meetings, and analyst days
Track all interactions in an online database (IR Insight)
Help respond to investor inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Business Analysis & Management
Manage the quarterly earnings process, including preparation of the press release, slides, earnings’ call script, Q&A document and other materials while collaborating with executives, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Corporate Communications
Manage IR processes, including quarterly shareholder analysis, updates to executives on Wall St reactions, distribution of analyst reports on Baker Hughes and its peers, competitor analyses, and press release approvals
Analyze & understand quarterly financial results and overall business performance
Communications
Manage and improve the Investor Relations internal and external websites with the most relevant and clear information
Develop strong working relationships with executives and teams across the company
Regular communications with buy- and sell-side analysts
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor’s degree for an accredited university
A minimum of 5 years of experience with financial markets and financial modeling
in oil & gas and/or industrial industries
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple projects
High level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information
Ability to generate successful and positive working relationships at multiple levels and maintain them during peak deliverable periods
Self-starter with ability to plan, manage and organize own activities to achieve deadlines and contribute to the effectiveness of the IR team
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
Willingness to travel to meet with investors and attend conferences
Must have strong technical writing skills
