Operations and Maintenance Engineer Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are currently recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, carrying out maintenance and commissioning activities within your designated area. This will include the top of M25, M4, M11, and the bottom of M1, A14, M40, A1(M).

Our Operations and Maintenance field teams are critical in delivering our contracts, whether that involves maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works. Help build and maintain the nation's critical infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities of the Operations and Maintenance Engineer:

• Attending to cable breaks and repairs on copper and fibre cables to keep the network operational.
• Ensuring all commissioning of equipment is completed to the correct standard, on time, and within budget.
• Responding to equipment issues within Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets within your area, day or night.
• Undertaking general maintenance and commissioning of equipment, testing on all fibre and copper.
• Completing all necessary documentation promptly as part of the tasks.

Candidate Profile:

You should have previous experience in a similar role, with familiarity in fault finding and testing within fibre or copper environments.

Key Requirements:

• Experience working on motorway communications or related equipment/systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunication networks, copper jointing, and fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or respond to callouts as required.
• Full UK driving license.
