Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Slough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom (Remote)

We are recruiting for an Operations & Maintenance Engineer to work on Highways England Contracts, focusing on maintenance and commissioning activities in designated areas including the M25, M4, M11, M1, A14, M40, and A1(M).

Join our supportive field teams to deliver and supervise maintenance, installation, cabling, and civils works, helping to keep the nation's infrastructure connected and protected 24/7.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending to cable repairs on copper and fibre networks.
• Completing equipment commissioning to standard, on time and within budget.
• Addressing equipment issues in Transmission Buildings and Roadside Cabinets.
• Performing general maintenance and testing of fibre and copper equipment.
• Documenting all tasks accurately and timely.

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role, with fault finding and testing in fibre or copper environments.

Key Skills:

• Experience with motorway communications or related systems.
• Knowledge of telecommunications networks, copper jointing, fibre splicing & testing.
• Strong health and safety awareness.
• Ability to repair fibre or copper cable breaks.
• Willingness to work overtime or on call when required.
• Full UK driving license.
