Job Function
To provide a proactive and multi-discipline maintenance service to stores while complying with company policy & procedure.
Principle Accountabilities
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and according to laid-down procedures.
- Assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as necessary.
- Prioritise maintenance and repair work to meet agreed timescales and response times.
- Order spares following the required procedures.
- Identify non-repairable issues and promptly advise the Regional Supervisor with recommendations for suitable alternatives.
- Inform the store manager of any repair and maintenance issues that could affect store operations.
- Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications.
- Perform general repairs and maintenance on Co-op store sites as designated by the Contract Manager, including repairs to building fabric, shelving, or point-of-sale signage.
- Ensure all tools and equipment needed (per company tool list) are available and in good condition at all times.
- Maintain accurate time sheets and mileage logs as required.
- Attend training courses to keep skills up-to-date with technical developments.
- Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Work with colleagues to ensure standards of quality are maintained.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, well-maintained, and serviced as required.
- Follow any other reasonable requests from the Regional Supervisor or FM Contracts Manager.
Key Knowledge, Skills + Abilities
- NVQ Level 3 (Carpentry & Joinery) or equivalent.
- H&S Awareness for Operatives or equivalent.
- CSC Skill card - Site Operative grade.
- Experience working in a retail facilities management environment.
- Ability to perform 1st fix across multiple disciplines (Joinery, Building, Plumbing).
- Full UK driver's license.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
