In the UK, Safran Seats specializes in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide-body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams based in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England.

Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  1. Produce electrical installation models and detailed drawings.
  2. Use various software packages for designing new products and platforms that meet company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  3. Design and integrate electrical systems within aircraft seats.
  4. Create 2D/3D electrical installation and systems designs using CATIA V5 and PLM software.
  5. Participate in Design Reviews during each phase of the New Product Introduction process.
  6. Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and OEMs.
  7. Ensure successful integration of design elements within the product.
  8. Contribute to product validation through prototyping and testing.
  9. Follow and develop Best Practice guidelines.
  10. Undertake additional tasks as requested by supervisors.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (HNC/HND, Apprenticeship).
  • Experience with 3D CAD & AutoCAD electrical software.
  • Understanding of tolerances, manufacturing processes, and OEM installation requirements.
  • Ability to read design drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
