Commercial Manager

The Company:

An established Groundwork and Formwork contractor based in Harrow is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing team of over 50 contractors.

Overview

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial strategy for groundwork and formwork projects, managing costs, contracts, and client relationships to drive profitable growth and support the company's long-term development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring cost control and contract compliance.
  2. Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
  3. Lead cost planning, budget management, and financial reporting.
  4. Manage client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  5. Negotiate contracts, manage variations, and resolve disputes.
  6. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  7. Prepare and present financial performance reports to senior management.
  8. Support procurement and subcontractor management.
  9. Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Proven experience as a Commercial Manager in groundwork, formwork, or civil engineering sectors.
  2. Strong knowledge of contract law, cost control, and financial planning.
  3. Excellent negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships.
  5. Effective leadership and team management skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
  7. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field preferred.
