Job Responsibilities
- Use sophisticated statistical and machine learning techniques to identify new trends and relationships in data.
- Harvest, wrangle, and prototype new data sources internally and externally to create value for NewDay and its customers.
- Provide quality and detailed data science outputs, sharing and following up with appropriate detail as requested by senior managers.
- Develop knowledge of all relevant data resources within NewDay and in the wider Credit Industry.
- Support model governance throughout their lifecycle—from conception to monitoring—ensuring documentation complies with internal standards.

Skills and Experience
Essential- Degree in a highly analytical discipline (e.g., data science, mathematics, finance, economics).
- Proficiency in statistical modeling techniques using Python.
- Experience working with raw datasets and performing data wrangling.
- Hands-on experience as a data scientist or modeler.
- Knowledge of credit risk, collections risk, IFRS9, or customer credit behavior models.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly, adapting to the audience.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
Desirable- MSc or PhD in Data Science or related fields.
- Experience in regulated financial services organizations.
- Ability to present complex findings effectively.
- Experience supporting model deployment and working with DevOps teams.
