Join an exceptional maths team teaching 16-18 A level Maths in an outstanding faculty. Exeter College we were graded Outstanding again in the last Ofsted inspection (2022/23) and is consistently rated in the UK’s top 10 FE Colleges (NICDEX). We effectively provide a Sixth Form for the whole of Exeter as well as drawing in students from across the region due to our reputation for excellence. The college is a short walk from the thriving city centre, in the heart of Devon, with the South Devon Coast, Dartmoor and the Jurassic Coast all within easy reach. The Faculty of Maths and Science has had sustained growth with excellent outcomes and Value-Added over many years. We listen to our learners, and we have very positive learner feedback.
As a Programme Leader you will teach, tutor a group of A level maths students and take responsibility for an aspect of the curriculum. You will be joining an exceptionally positive and collaborative team with a passion for teaching and learning and all things mathematical, and a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. Your delivery is likely to focus on A level, possibly with smaller amounts of IB delivery and/or core maths. Note that the GCSE maths resit programme at the college sits within its own faculty, while we focus on level 3 provision.
For an experienced and strong candidate, a Curriculum Area Manager position could be available to lead the Maths team within the faculty. This can be discussed at interview. Please indicate if you are potentially interested in this via your supporting statement on the application form, or if you are looking for part time teaching then please indicate likewise.
The role is for the start of the new academic year, 20th August 2025.
