Job Description:

We are expanding our Property Safety team with a new opportunity for a qualified and experienced Gas Service Engineer. Your role will involve carrying out annual servicing, maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns on all gas appliances/systems, associated equipment, and controls within Gentoo's housing stock across Sunderland.

Our customers are at the heart of Gentoo; therefore, providing excellent customer service is essential. We seek a qualified Gas Service Engineer with knowledge of Gas Regulations, relevant Health & Safety Regulations, Codes of Practice, and experience in domestic Gas Engineering procedures. Effective communication with customers, colleagues, and wider teams is crucial to ensure excellent service delivery.

Enjoy reduced working hours during summer with early finishes at 1 pm and 3 pm. In winter, working hours extend until 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Saturday work is required, with a Friday off in return.

Note: The role is subject to a basic DBS check paid for by Gentoo. A full UK driver's licence is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high-quality servicing and repairs for gas appliances, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
2. Follow safe working practices daily in accordance with Health & Safety Policies.
3. Complete work to a high standard, aiming for first-time fixes and ensuring excellent customer experience.
4. Maintain accurate and professional documentation of work.
5. Provide excellent customer service, embodying our core values.
6. Support the Emergency Out-of-Hours Service as part of a rota and demonstrate flexibility to work Saturdays when required.

What We Are Looking For:

1. A full UK driver's license.
2. City & Guilds Advanced Craft certificate in Gas Engineering/Plumbing or Heating, or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
3. Current gas competency qualification (ACS accreditation): CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1.
4. Demonstrable experience in servicing, repairs, and installation of domestic gas appliances.
5. Knowledge of Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.

Desirable:

• Certifications such as G3 unvented hot water, solar thermal, and non-domestic gas are highly desirable.
