Job description

Introduction

We are recruiting for an Assistant Estimator to join our client's Engineering and Technical Solutions team at Sizewell B. This role will be based in Leiston, Suffolk.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the development of estimate strategies through a gated project process, including estimates for investment strategy and feasibility studies.
2. Assist in the development and use of Project Control Structures (CBS, OBS, WBS, etc.).
3. Coordinate with the project planner to ensure alignment between estimates and the project plan.
4. Collate and analyse historical cost data for benchmarking and to inform project cost estimates at each phase.
5. Participate in reviews to validate estimates from internal and external sources.
6. Contribute to the Project Risk Management process and assist in preparing Project Risk Logs for estimates.
7. Support estimate uncertainty and event risk analysis to provide contingency recommendations.
8. Contribute to the tender review process, including claim evaluations and valuation of significant changes.
9. Assist in developing and maintaining standards and procedures owned by the Estimating & Risk Group.
10. Help draft and update Project Documents (PDD, IRM papers, etc.) to include relevant estimate data for controlling schedule, costs, and variances.
11. Communicate effectively at all management levels and produce monthly reports with insightful analysis.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum of HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or relevant experience; MACostE qualification is desirable.

Salary and Benefits

£35,000 - £45,000; benefits to be discussed during consultation.
