Our client is responsible for the delivery of emergency and planned repairs, maintenance and refurbishments to 16,000 social housing properties across Hounslow. We are assisting them to recruit a Head Of Compliance and Planned Work.
You will lead and manage the operational areas of Compliance and Planned Works, delivering through a combination of direct labour and sub-contractors. The role involves ensuring all planned works and properties are 100% compliant, and are delivered through high quality, customer-focused services.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure all repairs, remedial works and planned programmes comply with health and safety regulations, industry standards and relevant legislation.
- Ensure a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure timely reporting.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address compliance issues.
- Lead, motivate, challenge, support and develop the internal responsive repairs, complex repairs and empty homes teams.
- Secure and manage external sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Oversee the planning, execution and budget of maintenance and improvement projects ensuring work is of the highest standard and that projects are completed on time and budget.
Experience and Qualifications required:
- HND / Degree or equivalent qualifications OR experience in a construction related subject.
- IOSH or similar H&S qualification.
- Demonstratable ‘competent’ person qualification(s) for the ‘Big 6’ areas of compliance, including external audits
- P405 for asbestos as a minimum asbestos related qualification.
- Relevant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (of 100+ people) across multiple workstreams. Relevant experience in social housing repairs or a similar industry sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Strong IT skills and demonstrable data analytics skills.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and experience of managing budgets in range of £10-20m.
- Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools and scheduling software.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Full UK driving licence.
