Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Design
  • Plan, deliver and evaluateengaging, rigorous Computer Science lessonsfrom Year 7 to Year 13
  • Teach acrossKS3,GCSE and A Level(with support available if new to sixth-form teaching)
  • Design a progressive curriculum incorporating:
  • Programming (e.g. Python, Java)
  • Computational thinking
  • Cybersecurity and digital citizenship
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Digital productivity and media tools
  • Embed digital literacy across all key stages to ensure students are"future ready"
  • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL, as well as high attainers
Subject and Strategic Leadership
  • Set a clear vision and direction for Computer Science across the school.
  • Oversee curriculum development for the whole school. Assessment strategies and exam preparation for taught classes.
  • Use data and evidence of learning to evaluate departmental performance and raise standards
  • Manage the subject budget, ensuring effective use of resources
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to developcross-curricular digital projectsand integrated learning experiences
EdTech Leadership
  • Championtechnology-enhanced learningacross the curriculum as part of the school’sDigital Strategy
  • Support staff in theadoption of digital toolsto enhance teaching, learning and assessment
  • Lead professional development workshops on educational technology (e.g. blended learning, AI in the classroom, interactive platforms)
  • Work in partnership with ISP’sEdTech teamto adopt best practices and pilot new tools
  • Help shape thedigital learning environment, ensuring it is inclusive, accessible and aligned with safeguarding and online safety policies
Whole School Contribution
  • Be a form tutor, supporting pupils’ personal development and academic progress
  • Attend and contribute to parents’ evenings, open days, and other key school events
  • Participate in CPD, school INSET days, trips, and enrichment activities
  • Support students beyond the classroom through clubs, competitions, and co-curricular initiatives (e.g. coding club, robotics challenges, e-sports, media production)
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)and a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • A passion for innovative, student-centred learning andtechnology in education
  • A track record ofhigh-quality teaching, curriculum design and subject leadership (or clear leadership potential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience or interest in delivering A Level Computer Science
  • Confidence with a range of digital tools and thevision to lead EdTech developmentacross the school
  • A collaborative, reflective mindset and a commitment to continuous professional development
