Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Computer Science to join our innovative Computer Science department at a Church of England secondary school in Ealing. This full-time, permanent position starts in April 2025.

About the Role:

  • Teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach at Key Stage 5 based on experience and interest.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons catering to diverse learning styles.
  • Utilize various teaching methods and resources, including coding challenges, robotics, and game design.
  • Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource creation to keep the curriculum relevant and challenging.
  • Encourage students to explore the digital world, participate in coding clubs and competitions, and consider careers in computer science.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development to stay updated with the latest in Computer Science education.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science, programming languages, algorithms, and computational thinking.
  • Passionate about teaching and committed to student success.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum and examination specifications.
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development.
  • Supportive of the school's Christian ethos and values.
