Job summary

Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established, family run logistics business based in Ballymena. We are seeking an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy transport team and help ensure deliveries across Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland run smoothly.

You will coordinate daily movement of vehicles, trailers and drivers, allocate work, monitor progress and communicate with drivers and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning or logistics.
• Knowledge of UK and Ireland geography and time-critical transport operations.
• Good IT skills with MS Excel and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily delivery and collection schedules across NI, GB and ROI.
• Allocate work across drivers and vehicles to maximise fleet utilisation.
• Maintain communication with drivers and customers with clear updates.
• Monitor live movements and respond to delays, route changes, and issues.
• Enter and maintain transport data in systems and customer portals.
• Support KPI reporting and continuous improvement in planning.
• Ensure compliance with Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive.
